DATÉ ? —

Swiss army knife of contemporary art, "Daté" is a tool to sharpen the perspective and appetite of cultural hikers in the Franco-Swiss region and elsewhere.

ADDRESS AND AFFINITIES
We believe that art can work with sensitivity and pertinance to address issues beyond the changes and evolutions of general societal concerns. The angles and the practices that are of interest to us are not those of the cultural industry.

PRODUCTION / DISTRIBUTION
On a collective basis, via multiple formats, we develop personal writings, shaped in the form and tone, to be curious, narrative, and trenchant. We offer a framework and canvas for the production and dissemination of these writings.

AGAINST THE COMPETITION
We reject the values proposed by the commercial networks of art, amplified by most media and institutions. We believe that notions of competition and novelty are counterproductive: they tend to crush the singularities of opinion and to reduce speech to pure promotional solicitation.

AGAINST FORGETTING
We believe it is fundamental to relay information and promote the historical depth of the news, far away from the perpetual tabula rasa of the egocentric figure. This work with cultural memory allows one to better formulate and understand the meaning of current art practices and the issues they raise.
